Job Description Job Description Job Title: Substance Abuse Therapist / Licensed Therapist Position Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (On-Site) Locations: Multiple (Virginia) Job Summary: We are seeking compassionate and skilled Substance Abuse Therapists to provide essential counseling services in accordance with policy, state, and federal regulations. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will foster a supportive environment for patients seeking recovery, ensuring a safe and balanced atmosphere for healing. Key Responsibilities: Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop individualized patient care plans Conduct comprehensive assessments utilizing ASAM criteria for appropriate patient placement and treatment justification Provide crisis intervention, service coordination, and counseling support for individuals with substance use disorders Maintain thorough and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans Advocate for patient needs within the community, including housing, probation, and social services Monitor patient condition and adjust treatment plans to ensure the best therapeutic outcomes Adhere to professional and ethical standards, including compliance with NAADAC Code of Ethics Qualifications & Requirements: Education: Master of Social Work (MSW), Licensed Social Worker (LSW - VA only) Experience: Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health conditions Licensure/Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required; must meet and maintain applicable state licensure requirements Work Conditions & Expectations: Ability to work in both sedentary and ambulatory environments, with occasional lifting (30 lbs) Must maintain emotional stability while working with mentally and physically ill patients Adherence to infection control and workplace safety protocols, including Universal Precautions Participate in training, professional development, and competency evaluations Attend regular staff meetings and contribute to program development initiatives Available Locations: Abingdon, VA (High Priority) Duffield, VA (High Priority) Wytheville, VA (High Priority) The position offers standard benefits, which will be discussed during the interview process.
