As a Lab Technician you will:

* Ensure the cleanliness and appropriate maintenance of quality control and laboratory areas and equipment as required, promoting environmental cleanliness, safety and efficiency; * Assist in the investigation and root cause analysis of customer complaints and quality issues, reporting results to appropriate internal personnel and assisting in the implementation of problem resolution initiatives and objectives; * Prepare and maintain quality control testing equipment, ensuring proper assembling, disassembling, cleanliness and calibration prior to and following each use; * Adhere to and participate in the application and review of Department and HSESQ protocol and written policy, safety procedures and laboratory regulations; * Support and participate in all Company health, environmental and safety initiatives, and processes, audits and investigations, ensuring compliance and understanding of all corporate policies and procedures; * Participate in regular quality inspections, audits, job safety analyses and evaluations, and related committee projects; * Perform routine and non-routine sample analysis, safely handling, disposing and storing supplies and materials as appropriate, and reporting results as required; * Participate in Company continuous improvement programs, committees and initiatives; * Assist in the identification of document and procedural changes and implementation of those changes; * Communicate with internal colleagues and personnel to ensure all testing is completed in a timely and appropriate manner and according to specification; * Complete Department documentation such as log sheets, reports and checklists according to established protocol; * Participate in and completes other projects and tasks as assigned.

In order to accomplish this you will possess:

* A High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related laboratory science preferred. * A Minimum one years' quality control laboratory experience. * Previous quality control, quality assurance and/or environmental safety experience in a chemical manufacturing environment. * Superior knowledge of hazardous materials and the appropriate handling and disposal of such products. * Demonstrated knowledge of production operations environment, including logistics, quality, manufacturing operations and safety. * Familiarity with laboratory concepts, practices and standard procedures, including safety. * Superior oral and written communication and comprehension skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts across all organizational levels. * Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing safety and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. * Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. * Knowledge of ISO quality and Responsible Care standards preferred. * The ability to function independently with minimal supervision while meeting assigned deadlines. * The ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality, flexibility and adaptability. * Basic computer software and data retrieval system knowledge; SAP experience preferred. * Ability to meet and maintain established occupational demands and fitness for duty requirements.
