Job Description:
Job Summary:The Plant Manager holds primary responsibility for
the overall performance of all manufacturing facilities in order to
meet business objectives.---- Accountable for all aspects of plant
performance and ensures that objectives are attained in a cost
effective manner that is consistent with quality
requirements.Direct responsibilities:Manage a highly diverse
cross-functional team.-- Oversee processing of all liquid and
powder production products to ensure top Quality, Food Product
Safety, Workplace Safety, and complies to Regulated Standards and
Practices.Oversee Production, Santitation and Maintenance of all
production facilities.Plan, organize, direct and run optimum
day-to-day operations to exceed customers expectations.Continously
seeks to increase production utilization, capacity expansion and
flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining
current quality standardsBe responsible for maintaining high
standards of production output, production quality and timeliness
of shipments as measured by Complete and On Time shipments of
orders.--Implement strategies in alignment with strategic
initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction,-- continuous
improvement, and streamlining.Monitor operations and trigger
corrective actions.Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and
to manage and develop plant staff.Stay up to date with the latest
production management best practices and concepts.Ensures employees
and facility follow applicable federal and state government
regulations.Standard Operating Procedures (Assist in development,
annual review, accuracy of SOP)Commitment and Compliance to the
established Safety Programs (SQF, OSHA, and GMP)Serve as an
emergency contact for both local emergency response and customer
concernsEssential Functions of the job are:Direct and coordinate
daily operation of the manufacturing plants.--Monitor HACCP and
Food Safety Programs to ensure procedures are properly carried
out.Maintain current certifications and training required for both
workplace and food product safety such as HACCP accredidation,
Quality Individual certification, HAZWOPER, etc.Coordinate with the
Regulatory Department to effectively manage personnel in the
enforcement of OHSA required training as well as the Food Product
Safety programs.Oversee all levels of staff activity and
performanceDevelop processes to increase productivity and enhance
performanceEnsure company policies and procedures are followed at
all times.Participate in the the process of new hires. (Screen,
interview and manage)Provide training and educational opportunities
to staff as needed.Monitor equipment and repair or replace as
needed.Participate in annual review of SOP, SSOP and GMP programs
in the SafeFood360 Annual Review Programming.Establish and maintain
positive leadership to all production teams and related staff.Solve
issues through delegation and training of appropriate staff.Perform
other tasks as assigned by President.--Additional
Responsibilities:Communication with Customer Service, Distribution,
and Purchasing of Production's progress.Reviewing daily reports as
designated by management.Responsible for following Ethinic
requirements and regulations in conjunction with Ethnic
Coordinator.Timely completion of the required documentation for our
SQF program such as SOP reviews and Corrective Actions.Flexible
schedule; nights; holidays and week-ends as necessary.Coordinate
and manage Production with the Regulatory Department for both GMP
and Workplace Safety.--Sr. Management Team for Food Safety, QI
"Quality Individual" for GFSI.--Entry Qualifications:Bachelor's
degree and/or 5-10 years of experience in the industry, food
industry experience a plus.Proven experience working in plant
operations required.Lean Manufacturing, Strategic Planning and
Project Management experienceGood Understanding of regulatory
requirements for operating plants.Strong aptitude for root cause
analysis and troubleshooting operational issuesPrior Chemical
processing experience preferred.Proficient with Microsoft Office
Applications and computer technologyExcellent verbal and written
communication skillsStrong leadership and managerial
attributes.Excellent organizational and time management
skills.Ability to sit, stand and walk around for long periods at a
time.Understanding of Company Process and ProgramsUnderstanding of
Company product codes and terminologyTact and human relations
skills in dealing with other Supervisors and MML EmployeesAble to
understand and carry out directions of MML management to meet
Company goals.
