Job Description:
Honda Aircraft Company Description General Summary:
Materials Planner will be responsible for planning and managing
changes to ensure correct inventory levels for assigned Materials
and/or Commodities. Primary objective is to help the Supply Chain
team achieve timely delivery of materials to the stock room in
support of the Master Production Schedule and in service
aftermarket requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Mange configuration changes through the change management
process to ensure timely incorporation of change request
2. Support the Materials Planning team in various capacities such
as forecasting, inventory management, data analysis, report
development, and master data maintenance
3. Ensure timely/accurate Bill of Materials within SAP; help
identify and manage BOM errors, and support alignment of
Engineering Change Orders to the BOM in the ERP system
4. Periodically review material consumption to optimize procurement
parameters, adjust reorder points, and safety stocks based on the
Materials planning strategy. Ensuring the order levels are always
in support of the consumption pattern
5. Recommends product schedule releases to coincide with
configuration phase-outs, attempts to minimize inventory
investment
6. Provide technical support in identifying and resolving supply
chain issues that may preclude our ability to manufacture and
deliver Aircrafts per the Master Production Schedule.
7. Communicates and coordinates corrective actions with Inventory
Control, Production Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and
Quality Assurance
8. Recommends enhancements to existing SAP transactions and
participates in evaluation, testing, and implementation of SAP
upgrades and enhancements
Qualifications Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or
Licensure:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain / Logistics or
Industrial Engineering or combination of education and 4+ years
relevant experience in lieu of degree
2. APICS/CPIM Certification preferred Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities: 1. Advanced knowledge and/or experience with SAP 2.
Advanced understanding of MRP fundamentals.
3. Advanced analytical ability with exposure to database
concepts.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
5. Proficient in Excel functions and other Microsoft
Applications.
Physical Requirements:
1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational
noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel
odors.
2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend,
climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods
with no restrictions, as required by job duties. 3. Work in a safe
and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory
requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations,
etc.).
4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by
job duties.
5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety
instructions with no restrictions.
6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.
7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout
the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment
weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of
Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist
technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics
reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job
duties.
