Position Summary Position is responsible for ensuring compliance to AS 9100 including managing internal audits and handling audits by customers and other outside authorities including FAA. Successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to lead the Quality Department and the entire company toward excellence through continuous improvement and customer satisfaction for the division at the plant level. Essential Functions: Communicates customer, regulatory and organizational requirements to assure product quality, contract compliance and customer satisfaction. Oversees the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system to assure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements and the standards set by corporate/division policies. Works with the leadership team to ensure that individuals performing functions affecting quality are trained and demonstrate the appropriate skills and performance results. Management Representative during customer audits & third party quality system audits. Coordinates necessary plant personnel for internal, customer and third party quality system audits. Maintains corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints. Implements the performance measurements necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality, services, customer satisfaction and the cost of poor quality. Uses the results of performance evaluation to target improvement efforts. Assess supplier capabilities and monitor supplier quality to ensure desired levels of performance. Apply statistical methods to evaluate product, materials and processes. Provides technical assistance and act as a liaison to vendors and customers. Managing the operations of the Quality Assurance Department; ensures adequate resources are budgeted and available Support all sales and engineering efforts in search of product quality issues, procedures, specifications, and new product approvals Reviews contracts for compliance of QA requirements and alerts Sales of risks Conducts daily QA review with management Promotes Safety & Quality above all other influences Qualifications: Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien Degree in Engineering or related discipline; 7+ years of Quality, Engineering or related experience. Knowledge of AS9100 & ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), or Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr) is preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing and quality practices in an Aerospace environment is preferred. Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis). Experience with PPAP & MSA in an aerospace environment preferred, automotive environment acceptable. Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills. Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
