The Admissions and Pre-certification Specialist is responsible for
obtaining pre-certification information for all admissions,
verifying insurance coverage, and coordinating pre-admission
certification. This role supports patient registration and
admitting functions while ensuring a seamless and exceptional
patient experience. The Admissions and Pre-certification Specialist
works directly with insurance providers, healthcare teams, and
patients to verify benefits, network status, and financial
responsibilities.
Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience,
certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range
starts from $15.75 per hour.

Compensation is commensurate upon education & experience - range is
$15.75 per hour or more. Benefits begin the first of the month
following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date.
This position is non-exempt and includes shift differentials for
qualified shifts.

Key Responsibilities
Obtain pre-certification and benefits verification for all patient
admissions.
Contact insurance providers to verify coverage, network status, and
financial obligations.
Process patient registration and admission information accurately
and efficiently.
Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to
facilitate a seamless admission process.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, insurance regulations,
and patient confidentiality standards.
Provide exceptional customer service to enhance the patient
experience.
Position Requirements
Minimum Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
Three to six months of experience in a medical office, clinic, or
acute care setting preferred.
Required Registration/License/Certification
N/A
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of patient admissions and scheduling processes.
Strong communication skills for patient interactions, insurance
verification, and care coordination.
Proficiency in computer systems, faxing, phone operations, and
document scanning.
Attention to compliance, detail, and financial accuracy.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients,
families, and staff.
Physical Demands
Lifts, pushes, and pulls up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity and mobility required.
Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking > 7 hours per day.
Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, and turning.
Near acuity for computer and document review tasks.
Working Conditions
Regular exposure to bloodborne diseases.
Exposure to electrical, mechanical, and power equipment
hazards.
Odorous chemicals, specimens, and unpleasant elements (e.g.,
accidents, slippery surfaces).
Handles emergency situations and crisis response.
Subject to irregular hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends,
holidays).
