Principal, Strategic Collaboratives and Academic Affinity
Groups
What will you be Doing:The Principal, Strategic Collaboratives is a
hybrid role that encompasses program development and
implementation, revenue building and customer engagement
activities. In this role, the Principal will develop, launch and
maintain one or more specific Strategic Collaboratives to
meet/address known member need and to augment business unit revenue
and profitability. This person will be responsible for generating
new bookings of $500K - $1M annually, as well as overseeing
revenues exceeding $2M once a Collaborative achieves maturity.
Success will be measured by Collaborative-specific revenue, margin,
customer satisfaction, and program growth (# of participants). In
the other part of the role, the Principal will need to create and
foster strategic relationships with key member executives of
Premier's academic accounts, (defined as having AAMC status), to
advance and support Premier's overall academic strategy. This role
will also partner and support the Field and Customer Success teams,
to further Premier's academic growth and delivery strategies. This
position may serve as a Co-Chair of an assigned Academic Affinity
Group (AG) and be responsible for executing on the defined goals of
the AG Advisory Board. This position will work with an oversight
group such as Premier's Member Academic Improvement Committee
(MAIC) and support internal teams to advance the vision of the MAIC
in meeting the mission and delivering value to the academic
members; as defined by the MAIC. Further, the Principal will
support the launch/maintenance of non-academic C-Suite AGs. In this
role, the Principal will have management responsibilities for 3-5
direct reports (at Collaborative maturity).Required
QualificationsWork Experience:Years of Applicable Experience - 7 or
more yearsEducation:Bachelors (Required)Skills:
- Proven expertise in the development and execution of
large-scale collaborative offerings, with demonstrated proficiency
in selling to and account management for academic, tertiary,
community and rural hospitals/health systems.
- Documented experience in building and maintaining C-Suite
relationships, which includes the evidence of strong communication
skills, including sound demonstrated ability in strategy
development and effective presentation skills (in person and
remote)
- Demonstrated competency in the application of performance
improvement tools to achieve impact/return and high levels of
customer satisfactionRelevant Experience to include:
- Practical hospital/health system experience
- High-level contacts in relevant performance areas
- Knowledge of healthcare nuances for academic hospitals/health
systems Education:
- Masters Degree with active/current clinical licensureKey
Responsibilities:Collaborative Leadership/Ownership
- Sets the collaborative-specific vision and strategy
- Engages cross-functional business units in the design, launch
and maintenance of the collaborative
- Identifies members and external partners to serve in an
advisory/expert panel for the Collaborative
- Develops/oversees the development of materials for use in the
Collaborative
- Works with Sales, Field and Customer success for recruitment
and retention of Collaborative participants, and ensure accuracy of
information maintained in Salesforce
- Maintains overall project management/oversight for the
Collaborative
- Drives business development processes, including proposal
strategy, pricing, presentation, scoping, billing, and contract
management; pulling together the appropriate resources to support
collaborative sales strategies
- Exhibits financial acumen through the oversight of
collaborative bookings, revenue, EBITDA and renewal targets
- Updates/Collaborates with the Vice President and/or Group Vice
President for overall collaborative performanceAffinity Group
Leadership/Ownership
- Defines tactics and owns the development of the Affinity Groups
to meet Premier AG Framework goals and metrics:
- Enrollment
- Project Shared Deliverables
- Resource Library
- Satisfaction
- Builds strong relationships with AG Advisory Board and across
the AG membership
- Owns the development and execution of AG Advisory Board and
Premier approved projects and initiatives
- Demonstrates and delivers clear value to the AG based upon
annual survey of group satisfaction
- Partners effectively with Field and Customer Success Teams in
supporting academic member value
- Establishes credibility by presenting appropriate academic
focused content and solutions for participating members
- Provides updates, as requested to the MAIC regarding AG
activitiesLeadership and People Management
- Provides managerial oversight for 3-5 direct reports
- Demonstrates active leadership on business unit matters and
actively participate in business unit leadership activities
- Make decisions in accordance with fiduciary
responsibilities
- Ensures professional development and performance management
occurs for direct reports which supports the next generation of
business unit leadership

is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and
competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly
skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is
$155,000 - $289,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market
factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets,
internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and
geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure
