Overview



















This position is responsible for providing clinical expertise in an imaging modality specialty to staff
and to accomplish measurable patient outcomes. Radiologic Technologists are authorized to handle and administer contrast media in accordance with radiology processes and procedures. Competencies are completed through the Radiology department. Talent Pool; Allied Health



























Responsibilities



















Modality Specific Development : Using the dyad model of management, collaborates with physician leadership to fully integrate clinical service with emphasis on quality and consistent practice. Provides departmental leadership for specialty area. Keeps abreast of best practices and presents information for consideration and incorporation into imaging protocols and procedures.Leads or has significant role in development of imaging modality practice guidelines for specialty. Leads or has significant role in assuring program quality and consistency of practice. Assures competency of staff in specialty area through training, education and focused feedback, etc. Leads and has significant involvement to assure regulatory compliance, ACR accreditation and other quality metrics. Leadership of modality produces outcomes and/or program growth/maintenance to achieve targets. Leads or has significant involvement in imaging modality development via committee/task force to support achievement of departmental and organizational objectives. Demonstrates competency in staff development and leadership skills. Seeks constructive feedback, attends continuing education, reviews literature and uses current research findings to improve and promote continual development of knowledge. Incorporates new learning into practice. Willingly shares knowledge to coach and mentor staff and functions as a team builder. Assists with technology assessment and capital equipment evaluation.

Performs routine and special exams in their respective imaging modality consistent with established protocols.Recognized as subject matter expert.Takes initiative to recommend changes or modifications as described in evidence based documentation.

Completes all exams and documentation accurately.Consistently completes all exams and documentation in EMR and PACS.Consistently and appropriately identifies all charges associated with studies.Addresses errors and resolves issues related to final product being sent to PACS.

Consistently demonstrates commitment to safe practices and supports Just Culture. Commitment to use Two for Two to accurately identify patients, follows procedures to avoid laterality errors, eliminate falls and ALARA. Completes all annual competencies by designated timeframe.

Qualifications



















EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent, Required
Bachelors, Science, Preferred
Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program. EXPERIENCE:Minimum 2 years, Healthcare - Radiology, Required
3-5 years, Healthcare - Radiology, Preferred
Must have at least two years of clinical experience within imaging and subspecialty at Cone Health. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED:
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Will accept any of the licenses below:
ARRT: RT(R)(CT), RT(N)(CT)
NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT)
Combination: ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT)
OR
CNMT and ARRT(CT)
OR
ARRT RT(R) and NMTCB(CT)
OR
ARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT)
Must have one of the above credentials and maintain at all times.
