Job Description:

Overview This position is responsible for performing a variety of functions related to scheduling imaging procedures. Demonstrates strong communication skills to include telephone etiquette and verbal correspondence. Responsibilities Demonstrates exceptional competency and accuracy when scheduling exams to include all of the following: Ensures correct patient (using MRN) and exam are selected for the appointment. Uses available sources (CHL, physician office or patients) to obtain/validate demographics and insurance information. Assesses orders through CHL work queues for the purpose of completing the scheduling process. Schedules anesthesia for adult sedation patients. Schedules Short Stay resources for biopsy patients. Reviews chart for Cone Health Cancer Center patients to schedule exams and coordinates appointments with provider, patient, and modality.Accurately completes pre-registration for scheduled exams to include complete documentation of authorization information. Works with Pre-Authorization team as needed to ensure approvals and financial clearances have been met.Verifies orders and scans all related documents. Matches order to scheduled exam. Initiates solution for incorrect orders.Maintains a professional demeanor to include telephone etiquette, effective verbal communication and problem solving. Provides prompt and accurate response to customer questions. Proactively shares issues and process opportunities with management.Demonstrates extensive knowledge of Radiology CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, exam preps, and specific modality procedures. Qualifications EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent - Required EXPERIENCE:1 year experience in general radiology duties - RequiredExprience cheduling radiology exams - Preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDN/A NONE PREFERRED
