Bachelors degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.

As a Senior Manufacturing Planning Specialist, youll utilize your skills and talents to represent the production and material planning function on concurrent engineering teams. Essentially, youll compile and monitor monthly production schedules, create complex material structures in the material planning tool and identify process flow improvements and implement. Youll also prepare labor and material forecasts as requested and interface periodically with supply chain or suppliers on delivery issues and problem resolution.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS

* Represents the material and production planning function to support achievement of manufacturing build schedules/deliveries
* Utilizes MRP system and planning techniques to plan material and production requirements
* Analyzes and structures MRP driven material to generate requisitions used by Supply Chain (Purchasing) for procurement
* Interfaces daily with Supply Chain (Purchasing) to identify and resolve material availability issues
* Creates, releases, maintains, and statuses manufacturing Shop (Work) orders
* Provides on floor support to Shop for identification and resolution of work-in-process issues
* Compiles and monitors timely and regular production schedules
* Communicates daily with planning colleagues, engineers, supervisors, and project managers to ensure execution of material and manufacturing plans
* Prepares various reports and presentations to status material and production progress and concerns
* Supports and communicates information/status at various manufacturing meetings
* Prepares labor and material forecasts as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

* Solid understanding of material planning tools
* Ability to utilize MRP system for gathering and manipulating data for effectively planning material to support production requirements
* Solid understanding of bill of material concepts and methodologies
* Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office tools
* Grasps and applies new information quickly
* Ability to handle complex assignments
* Solid communication and relational skills with a variety of cross-functional personnel

PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE

* Manufacturing planning and MRP experience
* APICs certification and/or a commitment to ongoing professional development
