Ecolab, the global leader in premium cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance products and services for the hospitality, institutional and industrial markets is seeking a Mixing Technician. This role is responsible for mixing chemical batches by following standard formulas, applicable instructions and current standard operating procedures.

Position Details: 

  • Plant location: Greensboro, NC

  • Compensation package offered: $17/hour (additional $0.75 shift differential for 3rd shift)

  • Work week and shift: 3rd Shift (Sunday - Thursday; 10:00pm - 6:30am)

    • Overtime as needed (including weekends)

What You Will Do:

  • Reviews, follows and achieves daily mix plans and schedules.

  • Ensures that the raw materials required for the mixes are available and ensure that the Ecolocator system is being used to maintain inventory system.

  • Follows the mix instructions and adds raw materials to the mixers manually, using pumps, or using mixing systems.

  • May use fork trucks, palletizers, scales, pumps, and other material moving and measuring equipment.

  • Mixes the batches using variable agitation speeds, agitation times, and heating and cooling per the instructions.

  • Takes samples of the completed mixed batches and performs basic Quality Control tests or takes samples to lab for tests.

  • Consults with Quality personnel on batch adjustments and notes batch adjustments on mix paperwork.

  • Cleans out mix tanks when empty per procedures and collects wash-water.

  • Document all work accurately and timely as instructed, including material usage.

  • Pumps completed products to assigned storage vessel, as instructed.

  • Maintains equipment, work area and raw material storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.

  • Ensures that the correct PPE is available and other safety procedures are understood and followed. Asks Team Leader for assistance if needed.

  • Cross-trained on bulk loading and unloading.

  • Able and willing to work daily and weekend overtime as business requirements dictate

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School degree or equivalent

  • Ability to read and follow detailed mixing instructions.

  • Ability to be fork truck certified and to use other manual and automatic material moving equipment.

  • Technical and mathematical ability to operate batch systems, pumps, read meters, understand basic QC data, and to track mixing and quality information (mix logs, batch adjustments, etc.).

  • Ability to perform basic QC tests (take samples, perform pH tests)

  • Strong attention to detail; must have ability to simultaneously mix several tanks and to accurately complete related documents.

  • Ability to read and match numbers on shipping records, labels, raw materials, and finished goods.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs

  • Must be able to participate in respirator fitness, if required

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a chemical and/or manufacturing environment

  • Basic knowledge of chemistry

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  •  Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask

  •  Excellent  communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
