OVERVIEWResponsible for the accurate set up, picking and packing of materials according to client specificationsRespond quickly to pick requests and to have a sharp eye for detail. Requires ability to follow directions and company procedures to eliminate the threat of workplace injuries and ensure packages are sent out accurately. Must be able to work in a team setting to meet company and individual goals. Requires mathematical skills to ensure the right amount of products are in the package.Category: Hourly Non-ExemptDept: WarehouseReports to: Warehouse SupervisorHours: 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, additional hours as needed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collecting and organizing items ordered by customers and clients & preparing them for shipment. Sorting customer orders with high speed and efficiency for long stretches of time. Verifying shipments are sent to customers with the proper labeling and correct inventory inside the package. Wrapping and sealing the shipment once the proper items are inside and ensuring that the package is tagged properly and sent to the correct place, along with being marked with a weight and time-stamped. Record data on shipment of packages both inbound and outbound. Package, ship and inspect outgoing packages of goods. Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. Conduct inventories and maintain appearance and flow of goods and workspace. Utilize computer system to identify tasks, enter completed tasks and find goods. Fill orders for the delivery, sale, and movement of products and goods. Operate equipment to collect, deliver, and package goods. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Adhere to housekeeping standards. Follow warehouse safety guidelines. Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively. Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Communication Skills - The ability to effectively communicate, build a rapport and relate well to all kinds of people. Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to potential issues. Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology. Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing. Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. Experience stockroom/picking/packing required Basic math and reading skills required Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions Forklift experience/training a plus Experience with loading/unloading trucks a plusWorking Conditions & Physical Demands: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Will require heavy work (lifting greater than 30 pounds). Ability to carry 50 lbs. for 100 feet unassisted. Machinery operation requires the use of safety PPE equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toe shoes, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted Regularly required to stand or sit, and move about the facility.
