role is responsible for leading the Process Engineering Team and
the Pilot Plant for Performance Coatings Group, located within the
Research and Development Team at Greensboro, NC. Core
responsibilities are as follows:CORE RESPONSIBILITES Lead
commercialization engineering programs and projects related to the
Industrial Wood (IW) Division. Lead the Pilot Plant in Greensboro
that focuses on IW Scale Up Projects and supports Customer Trials.
Manage and prioritize the portfolio commercialization engineering
projects for the IW Division. Ensuring commercialization
engineering programs, such as Formula Manufacturing Assurance
Program (FMAP), are advancing and maintained as required IW for the
Division. Assist with the development and improvement of Scale Up
Models. Ensure project tracking is maintained and results are
communicated in a timely manner. Coaches and mentors team members
to ensure timely completion of projects and career growth as
needed. Apply commercialization engineering knowledge to achieve
the goals of the team.POSITION REQUIREMENTS1. FORMAL EDUCATION:a.
Required:i. Bachelor of Science Degree in Science AND two semesters
of general and organic Chemistry each.b. Preferred:i. Degree in
Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Polymers and Coatings2.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:a. Required:i. Minimum of 5 years
R&D/Operations/Technical experienceii. Problem and analytical
solving skillsiii. Communication/presentation skillsb. Preferred:i.
Commercialization or Engineering Experience (5+ years)ii. Technical
knowledge - industrial liquid coatings for the Wood marketiii.
Coaching through project completionsiv. Achieving measures and / or
metricsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and
see on a constant basis. Must be able to walk, write, and type on a
frequent basis. Must be able to climb and descend stairs. Must be
able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. May work in
areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is
required. May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous
materials are present. May be exposed to varying amounts of dust
and dirt. Work surfaces may include concrete. Employee must be able
to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator
as required. Employee must be able to operate a computer and
communicate via telephone. Some travel to other locations, meetings
and/or seminars is required.TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTSA.
