Security Systems / Network Administrator Job Overview:The Security Systems / Network Administrator will work as a member of Information Security team with focus on proposing and executing on necessary technical systems and network configurations to meet the requirements of the organization to tighten information security controls and continuously improve the security architecture.
This is a hands-on systems engineering / administration role that requires extensive experience working within a large IT organization making configuration changes to Dev / UAT and Production environments.
The Security Systems / Network Administrator reports to the Director of Information Security and adheres to the standards, policies, guidelines and change control requirements of the IT department.
Initial length of contract is 6-months.
Working with IT and InfoSec and from growing knowledge and experience within the environment, architect, and propose security technology changes necessary to ensure a highly secure, yet usable, computing / network environment, working with the Director of Information Security, IT and other stakeholders.Working from a continuously emerging set of change requirements, write the detail change control documentation explaining the changes, the approach, expectations, steps, technical details, schedule and backout procedures.Following change control approved time schedules, execute configuration changes to system administration and network environments.Be the subject matter expert and accountable resource for IT / security configuration changes executed.Contribute to monitoring and ensuring the health of the overall technical security architecture, ensuring that tools remain responsive and provide the value and protection they are required to. In specific cases be responsible for the operation of tools.Write and execute standard operating procedures and run books necessary to perform repetitive tasks in all environments that allow the organization to meet compliance mandates by meeting control objectives, including creating and securing forensic / validating evidence of meeting the requirement.Use technical skills in configuration, scripting, APIs and other integration to integrate security layers with each other where required and with monitoring platforms.Advise on information security issues to ensure internal security controls are appropriate and operating as intended. QUALIFICATIONSAt a minimum, you will need:
6+ years hands-on system / network administration experienceStrong knowledge with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems 2012, 2016, 2019. Microsoft certifications is a plus. Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Servers, Print Servers advanced knowledge is required.Advanced knowledge and administrative experience with Microsoft Windows 10+, Microsoft certification is a plus.Advanced knowledge and administrative experience with Microsoft Office 365 including O365 email and Outlook.Extensive and demonstrable experience with Domain Controllers including Group Policy, Security Groups (assigning user rights and permissions for resources).Strong knowledge of endpoint protection, laptop, desktop and server hardware information including CPU, memory, storage, network and BIOS.Experience with web filtering software, Anti-Virus, Palo-Alto PAN-OS a plus.Extensive and demonstrable knowledge network technology and performance monitoring, especially IP routing, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP, ARP, DKIM, SPF and methods use to protect enterprise networks.Experience with AWS technologies is a plus: CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Lambda, EC2, S3, Inspector etc.Ability to work with no direct supervision. Detail oriented - punctual, delivers solutions and follows up to drive execution on tasks.Demonstrable experience with scripting or programming languages such as Perl, Bash or other shell, Powershell, Python, etc.Excellent communication and organizational skillsSecurity certifications: CISSP-ISSAP, GDSA, CNDA, CRTSA, CISSP, Security+, a plus.
