Job Description Job Description Sorting Associate – Warehouse / Food Distribution Pay Rate: $17.00/hr Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Job Overview We are seeking a dependable Sorting Associate to support a fast-paced warehouse and food distribution operation. This role plays a critical part in receiving, sorting, and organizing donated food and household products that are distributed to community partners. The environment is highly interactive and community-focused, with daily collaboration alongside corporate and individual volunteers. Key Responsibilities Sort, inspect, and organize donated products (including shelf-stable food, beverages, and household goods) as they arrive at the warehouse Separate and stage products based on distribution orders and warehouse organization standards Work closely with volunteers, providing guidance and instruction on proper sorting and handling procedures Support shipping and receiving operations, including unloading deliveries and preparing outgoing orders Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production/warehouse environment Operate warehouse equipment such as electric hand pallet jacks (preferred); forklift operation is a plus Assist with general warehouse organization and inventory flow as needed Required Experience & Qualifications 1–3 years of warehouse experience , preferably in shipping & receiving or distribution Prior experience working in a production or sorting environment Comfortable interacting with the public and working side-by-side with volunteers daily Strong communication skills and ability to give clear direction Ability to lift, stand, and move throughout the shift in a production setting Electric pallet jack experience preferred Forklift certification is a plus What to Expect Hands-on role with meaningful impact in a community-focused operation Collaborative work environment with rotating volunteer groups Consistent schedule with daytime hours Physically active warehouse/production setting
