Job Description:

The Director of software engineering for BrightWay Credit Card requires a strong understanding of Data Architecture and engineering, how technology is used to drive business value and how to manage strategic Data initiatives. This leader will lead the work with enterprise data architect, Cards Analytics team, IT, and Business Management to identify, design, and execute key strategic Data initiatives. This individual will help lead the credit cards data and software engineering and pipeline for various business-driven data sources. A proven executive, capable of leading teams of varying sizes. Role and Responsibility - Develop, optimize, and evolve BrightWay Credit Card data platform. - Provide data architecture direction and guidance for the BrightWay Credit Card business. - Coordinate and align activities of IT and lines of business for establishing and executing against a domain data architecture. - Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and the Data platform’s resiliency supporting cards line of business. - Provide data stewardship to the Credit Cards domain. - Work with the Head of Cards Analytics, Cards IT, CTO, and other senior management on defining Data strategy and best practices. - Play an active role in defining enterprise data governance and participating in the data council. - Prepare documentation/messaging necessary for Data to communicate strategies and plans to executive management. - Provide process engineering and PMO support to cards business as required. - True innovator, leader, and data architect with experience leveraging SAAS/cloud solutions (AWS), databases, data engineering techniques, marketing automation, and best practices to make our customer experiences and communications stand out Assumes ultimate responsibility for the organization's engineering strategy, infrastructure, and results. - Shapes the organization's legacy in the engineering domain. - Enacts self directed organizational innovation and technical excellence. - Independently drives transformation initiatives. - Fosters an autonomous and empowered culture across the enterprise. - Cascades vision, values, and strategy and provides clarity on how efforts contribute to the company mission and objectives. - Drives the delivery of high-impact initiatives that set industry benchmarks. - Demonstrates unmatched resilience and consistency, even under the most challenging circumstances. - Influences and coordinates opportunities across multiple product lanes/platforms maximizing impact. - Elevates the company's reputation through publications, keynotes, and industry forums. - Follows up with a skillful balance of check-ins and support. - Delegates high-profile work that has large functional implications Qualification - Bachelor's degree with a minimum experience will include 15 years performing executive-level coordination of IT/Data activities within mid-to-large-sized financial services firms. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or related discipline is preferred. - Strategic thinker who can understand business complexities and develop innovative and creative solutions that address these nuances. - Effective communicator who is comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences and stakeholders at various levels. - An exceptional leader and team player with a proven ability to lead through influence and work effectively both independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, diverse cross-functional teams. - Dynamic and adaptable project manager with a strong ability to establish processes and drive project execution with minimal guidance amidst multiple priorities and goals. - Proficient in Python, SAS, or Scala Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Apache Parquet Hands-on experience with various data modeling techniques and tools Hands-on experience optimizing the NPV models. - Experience in data integration patterns Proficient with cloud-based architecture and DW/BI/Analytics domain knowledge with experience in Snowflake - Hands-on experience with one or more relational SQL and NoSQL databases. Recognized as a technical thought leader and sought to present at conferences (i.e. – AWS reinvent) - Proficient in working with BU tools i.e. - Looker, Power BI Location: Hybrid schedule. In-office in Charlotte, NC on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week.
