Job Description:
Boyd Bros. Transportation Inc., rooted in a rich history since
1956, is seeking a dedicated CDL A Truck Driver to join our team.
Located in Clayton, Alabama, we are industry leaders in flatbed
trucking, traversing the expanse of the United States. As part of
our fleet, you will play a crucial role in upholding our reputation
for safety, efficiency, and driver satisfaction. Your main task
will involve the safe transportation of goods in compliance with
company and regulatory guidelines, ensuring timely and secure
delivery. Operate a flatbed truck and transport goods and materials
over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and
distribution centers. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and
safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes and
meet delivery schedules. Document and log work/rest periods and
kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Comply with
truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route
designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company
policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading
positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report
defects, accidents, or violations. Proven work experience as a
truck driver. Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and
software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.). Ability to drive long hours
and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck
driving rules and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle
unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.). Trucking
school diploma. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance
Life Insurance 401k Valid truck driving license (CDL A).
Certification from accredited truck driving school. Clean driving
record. Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S.
Department of Transportation.
