Are you seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in Virginia? We are looking for a qualified and board-certified General Surgeon to provide call coverage near Red House, VA . This short-term assignment offers a chance to make a meaningful impact while working in an established facility. Assignment Details Location : Near Red House, Virginia Dates : December 27, 2024 December 30, 2024 Coverage Type : Call only (beeper) Practice Setting : Inpatient Patients Per Shift : Varies Rounding : Both inpatient and outpatient rounding required Required Qualifications Board Certification : Must be board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery Licensure : Must hold an active Virginia medical license Experience : Prior experience in general surgery, including adult and pediatric cases Skills and Procedures The ideal candidate should be proficient in the following: Laparoscopic surgery Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, and Hernioplasty Trauma surgery Breast and head/neck surgeries Endoscopic procedures (Upper GI, Lower GI) Chest tube insertion and central line placement Minor orthopedic and vascular surgeries Additional Details Temporary Privileges Available : Yes Trauma Level : 0 EMR Systems : Athena and Meditech Support Staff : Includes 34 RNs; no residents or teaching supervision required Response Time : 30 minutes for call-backs Travel and Logistics Travel Costs : Provided by the vendor Nearest Airport : Recommendations provided upon assignment confirmation Lodging : Assistance available This position offers a great opportunity to work in a supportive environment and provide essential care to a diverse patient population.
