correctional facility provides comprehensive healthcare services to
the adult population in a secure environment with dedicated nursing
support staff. The facility operates with established protocols
during regular business hours and utilizes the Naphcare EMR system
for patient documentation and care coordination. About the Facility
Location Northern Virginia offers diverse attractions ranging from
historical sites like Arlington National Cemetery to outdoor
recreation at Great Falls Park. The area features museums and
indoor entertainment options including flight simulators and
skydiving facilities, providing both educational and recreational
experiences for visitors throughout the region. About the
Clinicianâs Workday The nurse practitioner will provide autonomous
family medicine services in a correctional facility setting,
managing approximately 18-20 adult patients daily during regular
business hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Clinical responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient
evaluations, managing chronic conditions, treating acute illnesses,
and providing preventive healthcare services while maintaining
accurate documentation in the Naphcare EMR system. The position
requires Virginia licensure and DEA registration with no call
coverage obligations, working collaboratively with registered
nurses and licensed practical nurses to ensure optimal patient
outcomes within the correctional healthcare delivery framework.
