Job Description ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: /n RN - ICU /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (4x12s available by request) /n• Float between ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical units as needed throughout the facility /n• Must be comfortable working all three specialties with patient ratios up to 1:6 /n• Staffing needs re-evaluated every 4 hours, may float 2-3 times per shift /n• Weekend requirement may be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in 6-week scheduling block /n• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract (two holidays during winter season) /n• EPIC charting experience required /n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS /n• 2 years of ICU experience from large Level I/II facility required /n• Must be skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration /n• Experience required with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, suctioning /n• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, titrating cardiac drips, emergency response /n• Capable of managing continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocols /n• Patient ratios: ICU 2:1, PCU 5:1, MS 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1) /n• Facility may call off one shift per two-week period /n• 24-hour orientation provided /n• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations /n/n Facility: /n This is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital and flagship facility featuring advanced specialty care and a dedicated children's hospital. The facility serves as the region's only Level I Trauma Center for both adults and pediatrics, holds Magnet designation for nursing excellence, and is affiliated with a medical school.
