Job Details - Location: Greensboro, NC (zip 27401) — orthopedic nursing job, Greensboro healthcare - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,770 - $1,870 per week - Contract Duration: 13 weeks (travel RN contract) - Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) - Hours per Week: 36 - Employment Type: Travel, On-Site — travel nursing opportunity - Unit: 5 North Orthopedics (orthopedic nursing unit) - Patient Ratio: 1:6 (possible stretch to 7) - Weekend Coverage: Required (Every Other Weekend) - Holiday Coverage: At least one holiday and one holiday eve during contract Job Requirements / Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of recent orthopedic and trauma nursing experience — orthopedic RN experience required (no first-time travelers) - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand at submission - BLS required; ACLS preferred - EPIC charting system experience required (EPIC experience preferred for travel RN roles) - Travel nursing experience required — prior travel RN assignments preferred - Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed) - Orthopedic and trauma clinical skills required (total joint, fracture care, post-op management) - COVID-19 and influenza vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions only) - Education verification through third party required - Background check with no open cases - Ability and willingness to float to other campuses if needed Primary Responsibilities - Provide high-quality pre-op and post-op orthopedic nursing care for elective and trauma patients - Manage patients undergoing total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs (orthopedic post-op care) - Triage and manage orthopedic trauma cases; use safe patient handling equipment - Monitor and manage patients with CPM, knee immobilizer, bone foam, and other orthopedic devices - Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including performing and interpreting EKGs - Administer blood products, follow IV insulin protocols, and manage peripheral and PICC lines - Activate and utilize rapid response teams as needed for patient safety - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, case management, and surgeons - Document patient care accurately and timely using EPIC electronic health record - Maintain infection control standards and isolation precautions consistent with hospital policy Ready to join our orthopedic travel nursing team?
