Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/24/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with EPIC experience and the ability to provide care to stable trauma and surgical patients. Responsibilities - Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting - Patient populations include stable trauma, pre-op, post-op surgical, palliative care, observation, and medical overflow patients - Treats patients who have had exploratory laparotomies, colectomies, mastectomies, lap cholecystectomies, eye, trauma, and plastic surgeries, and lower volume GYN procedures - Day shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00am to 7:30pm - Weekend rotation and holiday coverage as needed - No on-call required - Floating required to multiple campuses within the health system as needed - Uses EPIC EMR system; EPIC experience required - Provide direct nursing care for medical, surgical, and telemetry patients, including stable trauma and post-surgical cases - Expected to perform blood product administration, peripheral line care, and participate in rapid response teams - Modules required during orientation; duration varies by unit and ranges from 2 to 4 hours - Strict attendance policy with zero tolerance for tardiness or unexcused absences - First-time travelers will be considered for this position - Time off requests must be submitted at the time of application; no requests accepted after submission - All RNs must be prepared for and pass the EKG exam; no study materials provided Requirements - Active NC or compact RN license in hand - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required - Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred - Experience in surgery or trauma preferred, especially for first-time travelers - EPIC EMR experience required - Must pass an EKG (electrocardiogram) exam with up to two attempts during compliance - Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted - Education from accredited institutions only; diploma audit restrictions apply Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-666638.
