Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A healthcare organization in Mooresville, NC is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a contract position on the night shift. This role supports a Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital with over 900 licensed beds, recognized for advanced trauma and pediatric care as well as Magnet designation. The surgical suite includes 32 OR rooms plus one procedure suite, averaging 70-100 surgical cases daily. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in general, transplant, minimally invasive, robotic (DaVinci XI), GYN, oncology, orthopedic trauma, neuro-spine, plastics reconstruction, and microsurgery procedures - Support complex cases including cardiac, vascular, thoracic surgeries, head/neck free flaps, and orthopedic trauma cases - Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including anesthesia providers, OR assistants, nursing leadership, and clinical supervisors - Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing technology - Adhere to scheduling that includes a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, with on-call rotations once weekly and holiday coverage for 50% of holidays in contract - Participate in New Employee Orientation and ongoing unit-specific training Qualifications / Desired Experience: - Minimum 2 years surgical tech experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center (Level III or below not accepted) - 3 years preferred in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery - Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program; BLS required; CST preferred but not mandatory - Proficiency in cardiac cases, ortho trauma, microsurgery, and complex plastics reconstruction strongly preferred - Ability to respond to on-call needs within one hour Location:Mooresville, NC is a vibrant community situated near scenic lakes and outdoor recreational opportunities, offering a balance of small-town charm and access to urban amenities.
