Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Shelby, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,894 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/26/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months Med/Tele RN experience required License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation. Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone). Wound care and drain/tube management experience. PIV starts and central line management. Description: This position involves providing care to patients in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The unit has 32 beds and an average census of 28 patients. Common diagnoses include total joint replacements, colon resection, gallbladder, appendectomy, amputations, medical overflow, and hip fractures. Patient ratios may vary; typically 1:4-6 during the day and 1:5-6 at night, with surge staffing ratios potentially reaching 1:7-8. Support staff includes CNAs for vital signs, baths, mobility, turning, and blood sugars, as well as a receptionist for rounds and secretary duties. A charge nurse will be available to assist with all nursing care. Phlebotomy services are provided other than nurse draws. There is 24/7 respiratory therapy and hospitalist coverage. Telemetry monitoring and technical support are available. Staff will float to different facilities as needed within their scope of practice. Shift times are 0645-1900 and 1845-0700. Weekend rotations are every other week with holiday work expected. Travelers may request up to 6 days off, excluding holidays, and must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
