Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty:
Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night
Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of PCU
experience required. License: Current RN license required.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Cardiac gtt
experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, trach care,
blood products, wound care/dressing changes. Description: The
position is for an RN specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry.
The facility has 101 licensed beds. It does not have a trauma
designation and is not a teaching hospital. It is designated as a
Chest Pain and Stroke Center. The average bed capacity is 38 with a
typical census of 34 patients. Patient types include stroke, CHF,
electrolyte imbalance, and arrhythmias. The patient ratio is 1 RN
to 5 patients. Required skills include cardiac gtt experience and
cardiac rhythm interpretation. Support staff includes CNAs
available for vital signs, blood sugar checks, and other duties.
Receptionist and charge nurse support is also provided. Phlebotomy
services are available for lab draws. IV/VAT teams and respiratory
therapy are available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is conducted by
monitor techs. Technology used includes an EMR system and various
monitoring equipment. Floating may occur within the region and
scope of practice. Travelers will be expected to float to all
facilities as needed. The schedule includes weekend rotations every
other week. Travelers will be required to work a percentage of
holidays. Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days,
