Greensboro, NC DAYS 7a - 7p This position is at the COVID facility. All travelers are expected to float to other units/campuses (Green Valley, Moses Cone & Wesley Long Hospitals; All Within 5 Minutes of each other), as patient care dictates. Travelers must work three out five holidays if starting before Thanksgiving, and two out of four holidays if starting after Thanksgiving. Pay: $50 an Hour $75 Overtime Weekly Hourly Pay: $1800 (Based on 36 Hours) Per Diem: $40 a Day ($280 Weekly) Housing: $60 a Day ($420 Weekly) Gross Pay weekly: $2500 3 Shifts a Week (12 Hours) 13 Week Assignment Start Date: 11-9-20 (or ASAP) End Date: 2-6-21 JOB SUMMARY: Assesses, plans, implements, documents, organizes, prioritizes, delegates, supervises, and coordinates the care of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric as prescribed w/in parameters of NC Nurse Practice Act. All travelers required to float, as necessary. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provides nursing care via the nursing process for development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Collects and analyzes patient/significant other data. Completes an admission database and ongoing assessment - a collaboration with patients, significant others, and other health care providers. Implements a plan of care for each patient (utilizing clinical pathways where applicable) and individualizes to meet the age-specific needs of patients/significant others. Identifies variances/make adjustments in the plan of care based on the evaluation of the plan and effectiveness of nursing interventions. Documents and updates plan of care, nursing care, nursing interventions, and patient response to care, and keeps the healthcare team, patients, and significant others informed. Contributes to the discharge plan by identifying homecare needs. Recognizes changes in patients' conditions and revises the plan of care appropriately. Demonstrates advanced competencies/critical thinking skills in day to day practice. Identifies and implements educational needs for patients/significant others. Establishes caring and therapeutic nurse/healthcare team/patient/significant other relationships. Recognizes communication barriers, identifies resources, and establishes plans - resolve barriers to communication. Demonstrates respect for diversity/cultural differences in patient/significant others related to age, ethnicity, gender, religion, socioeconomics, education, personality, or other unique variables.Formulate individualized plans to address individual needs re. diversity, cultural differences, or other unique variables. Advocates for the patient/significant other. Demonstrates skillful responses to customer needs to be based on the particular context of the situation. Supports an environment of evidence-based practice/research/quality improvement. Demonstrates knowledge of Shared Governance accountabilities and principles, supports DSGC directly as a council member or indirectly by keeping informed of council activities/supporting council decisions, brings forth issues to the council.Demonstrates knowledge of how to access reference documents containing policies, procedures, standards, and additional resources. Participates in QI/ Research activities based on role and major work activities outlined in the research point system guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of department QI plan. Demonstrates an understanding of resource management - implements opportunities.Collects QI data and participates in analysis/action plan development that incorporates changes into practice. Facilitates ongoing activities to meet/adhere to regulatory standards (TJC, DFS, OSHA). Supervises other members of the team. Contributes to a supportive and healthy work environment. Holds self and others accountable for complying with policies, procedures, and standards. Participates in learning needs assessments. Provides input into and supports the precepting and mentoring process.Delegates appropriate tasks to support staff, ensures completion of delegated tasks - provides feedback as needed. Demonstrates team spirit and collegiality.Supervises select personnel in performance/pt care.Demonstrates effective conflict resolution/negotiation skills Skills: Must have at least 2 years in an acute care hospital. Must have experience in Progressive Care. Must have cardiac/telemetry experience. Must have an EPIC experience.
