Segment responsibility within a Group. Accountable for the management of gross profit margins and operational aspects of segments. Typical units: Printing Graphics Packaging and Facility Supplies. Strategic marketing intent and long-term sales potential and gross profit should also be part of the criteria for determining the scope of role. Responsible for a large or multiple facilities. Job Responsibilities: Plan, develop and attain sales and profitable growth for division/segment consistent with company goals. Manage margin levels by constant monitoring and implementation of pricing policies. Maintain focus on order profitability. Manage and sell to select accounts/clients and act as additional resource/contact for target accounts. Recruit, hire, develop and maintain a sales force which will consistently meet the objectives of the Company, Group and Division. Maintain statistics for monitoring and driving of core supplier alignments and performance to sales goals. Provide feedback to General Manager on action plan for improvement to meet goals. Manage the assets (i.e. inventory) and applicable departmental expenses to achieve the department and division goals. Maintain awareness of current market share position, competitors' strategies, tactics, strengths and weaknesses and communicate information to territory and regional management. Conduct monthly field sales customer calls with sales professionals and as manager contact. Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned. Work with the Credit Manager in order to ensure accounts receivable are kept current. Direct the activities and training of the sales staff to ensure that market plans and goals are consistent with and complimentary to the departmental sales goals and cost requirements. Follow company and division guidelines to develop and maintain relationships with those sources that contribute to the sales and profit generated from existing and new markets. Able to successfully work within a matrix organization. Willingness and ability to adapt to new and changing IT requirements. Provide leadership to the department so that all members have a common focus. Required Skills: Customer Focus Good business management Product and market knowledge Communication both verbal and written Leadership Negotiation CRM tool implementation and management Financial acumen and analysis Ability to lead through Change Possesses a strong drive for Results Action Oriented Strong team hiring and development Technical Skills - PC Software, Microsoft Office proficient Required Experience: Distribution or manufacturing sales experience an asset Four to six years relevant outside selling experience; extensive industry and product knowledge 3-5 years of sales management experience within the Packaging industry preferred Positions Supervised: Sales Professionals and Support, 15-20 direct reports Education: Bachelors Degree - Required Major or Specialty Area: Sales/Marketing Working Conditions: Physical Requirements: Regularly required to talk and listen, drive a motor vehicle to travel throughout assigned territory, and lift or move up to 10 pounds (occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds). Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb in and out of vehicle, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
