Job Description:

The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational and social activities for residents of a senior living community. The Activities Director will work closely with other staff members to ensure that activities are appropriate for the residents and meet their needs and interests.Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program for residents
• Plan and organize a variety of recreational and social activities, including games, crafts, music, and outings
• Coordinate with other staff members to ensure that activities are appropriate for residents and meet their needs and interests
• Encourage resident participation in activities and events
• Manage the activities budget and ensure that expenses are within budgetary constraints
• Maintain accurate records of activities and attendance
• Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe and appropriate manner
• Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities
• Communicate regularly with residents and their families to keep them informed of upcoming activities and eventsRequirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with seniors in a recreational or social setting
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Recreation Therapist or NCCAP to obtain within 6 months of hire
