For additional information, please visit ]([]( and follow UNCG on [Facebook](, [Twitter](, and [Instagram]( Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:The CNNC promotes access and integration for immigrants and refugees in North Carolina by bridging newcomer populations with existing communities through direct service provision, research, and training. Specifically, the CNNC conducts: Community-based outreach initiatives and programming to help immigrants and refugees build their capacity to navigate complex systems in their new home. Research and evaluation studies to educate the general public, track demographic trends, and enhance the quality of service provision. Experiential training and leadership development for all community members through AmeriCorps positions, internships, volunteer experiences, and workshops. Position Summary:The Immigration Services and Language Access Assistant Director would manage and develop CNNCs revenue generating programs, Immigration Services, and Interpreter ACCESS Project. The individual will design, develop and implement additional fee-based services and programming, especially trainings and workshops in these areas. The ISLA Assistant Director will research and assess market needs and develop fee-for-service programming responsive to those needs that are based in CNNCs areas of expertise. The individual will supervise Immigration Services and Interpreter ACCESS Project Coordinators and provide budget and grant management support. The Assistant Director will research, develop, and implement marketing and communication efforts to strategically grow the CNNC fee for service programs. The Assistant Director will oversee and develop policies and process the ISLA program. This individual is primarily responsible for leadership, direction, oversight, strategic planning, and growth of ILAS. The position will lead the growth and business operations of the ISLAD program through development of programs, evaluation of data regarding immigrant and refugee needs, development and submission of external grants as appropriate, oversight of the overall budget, and grant management. This position operates autonomously and serves in place of the CNNC Director in their absence. ILAS is instrumental in support the community supports services of CNNC. The Assistant Director will be instrumental in the development and growth of the revenue stream for CNNC to ensure its ability to meet the needs of the immigrant and refugee communities. Minimum Qualifications: Masters from an accredited university with at least three years experience in immigration or refugee services. 3-5 years experience in developing and managing an immigration or refugee program Personnel management experience Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated self-starter and ability to work independently, collaboratively within a team, and with professionals from other fields to assist clients. Excellent communication (verbal and written), problem solving, listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form and maintain positive work relationships. Detailed and strong administrative, organizational, and management skills, with ability to prioritize multiple important tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and comfort working within a case management and tracking system. Utilize facts to project needed languages and supports of immigrant and refugee populations in the community as they change to ensure proper support. Percentage Of Time:40% Key Responsibility:Program Development Essential Tasks:Manage and develop service delivery aspects of Immigration Services and Interpreter ACCESS Project. Serve as the primary point of contact for programs under ISLA handling all matters of a unique nature. Be actively involved in community events. Liaise with community partners, UNCG academic partners and other Office of Research and Engagement centers to strengthen outcomes of all programs within CNNC and other centers. Coordinate CNNC programs to efficiently access and coordinate services from a variety of CNNC programs. Develop new community partners to broaden the services and grow the interpretation revenue stream. Increase the depth of interpreters and variety of languages served through ILAS. Percentage Of Time:20% Key Responsibility:Funding Management Essential Tasks:Research, write and obtain grants to fund the Immigration Services and Language ACCESS area. Develop necessary reports and documents to enhance and strengthen submissions for external funding. Manage a revenue based program with average annual revenue streams of approximately $500,000. Manage grants to ensure proper management of funding, compliance with grant guidelines, and fulfillment of outcomes as well as compliance with university, state, and federal grant requirements. Serve as primary contact with Office of Sponsored Programs and Contracts and Grants Administration offices for community support grants and funding. Percentage Of Time:10% Key Responsibility:Supervision and other duties Essential Tasks:Supervise community support staff of 2-3 permanent EHRA/SHRA staff. Serve on community boards and advisory committees as appropriate to represent CNNC and UNCG on matters associated to immigrant and refugee matters. When needed, serve in place of the CNNC director.
