You will support the sales team as we bid and quote on incoming work and leverage. You will have the opportunity to showcase the many hats that you can wear as you integrate yourself into our project teams, working closely with the systems engineering and project management functions. On these teams you will be responsible for the outcomes of the Software functions, including assisting in planning and participating in design reviews. You will heavily influence our design guidelines and help develop our Project Development Process and Software Development Process as we consistently strive to improve. You will mentor less experienced engineers and work closely with our Project Managers to groom them to take on more responsibility.How you will spend your time:Because of the variable nature of our work, this is only a guide to how you will typically spend your time and is subject to change depending upon the ongoing status of our business.

  • Technical Work:You will guide the process of software requirements, architecture, detailed design, and implementation. This includes leading and reviewing the work of other engineers on a regular basis. You may occasionally get deep into the technical details including implementation while owning the process outcomes from start to finish. You will involve other team members as appropriate to ensure project success.
    • Mentoring:You will work with the more junior staff members, developing their technical skills and helping them advance in their careers. This requires effective delegation, where you allow them to own their work, but you stay closely involved to ensure that they are successful.
      • Sales Support:You will work closely with our Technical Director for Bid & Offer and our Business Managers to bid and scope projects with our customers, occasionally visiting customer sites to discuss our capabilities.
        • Overhead:Whether it is training, developing, and refining our processes, managing portions of our Quality Management System, or tracking your time, you'll also have to deal with a lot of the extraneous responsibilities of a Work Package Manager.Who You Are:You're an individual who has the experience that comes from successfully delivering multiple projects and can speak to the lessons you learned along the way. You're comfortable being the point person responsible for getting the job done. You've been part of these projects from their inception to their delivery, so you're keenly aware of the different hurdles at each stage of the development process. You've worked with a variety of technologies so you can bring your breadth of experience to bear and tailor a right-sized solution to individual project needs. You have outstanding attention to detail, which makes you invaluable when reviewing the work of others. You don't believe in a one-size fits all approach and you are skilled at adapting to changing circumstances.Above all, people refer to you as an outstanding team member that they enjoy working with.Additional details are below:Minimum Qualifications:
          --- 5+ years of experience in leading software engineering teams in a regulated industry including:o Software planning
          --- 5+ years of technical leadership in the development of embedded systems including:o Software requirements developmento Software architecture development across bare metal and/or operating systems (Linux or RTOS)
          --- 6+ years of low-level experience in the development of embedded systems including:o Software detailed design across user interfaces, communication interfaces, device drivers, and/or high-level applications.
          --- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Systems Engineering (MBSE) and MBD
          --- Experience in GNU tools, Configuration Management Tools (ClearCase, CM synergy), JIRA and Requirement Management Tool (DOORS)
          --- Domain experience (any) - eV-HEV/Powertrain/ADAS
          --- AUTOSAR experience is an added advantage
          --- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver technical documentation to close projects.
          --- Demonstrable history of successful mentorship of other engineers
          --- Demonstrable experience successfully working in cross-functional teamsDesired Skills:
          --- Familiarity with software test procures, strategies, and methodologies.
          --- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and leadership skills; ability to inspire team members
          --- Self-motivated and enthusiastic with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
          --- Experience with large project proposals and project estimationsEducation:
          --- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited technical college or university in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
