If you're enthusiastic about working in an environment with a people-first culture and an organization committed to good living, good food and good service, we'd love to talk to you!Primary Responsibilities:The Director of Key Accounts is accountable for developing, leading and executing sales and marketing programs and strategy as well as managing all Key Account operations. Ultimately, the scorecard for success will be measured by the increase of profitable sales, strong mix of productive product portfolio, as well as deepened relationships within the accounts. As with all positions at KeHE, it is expected that all actions of the Account Manager will be consistent with KeHE's Mission, Vision and Values.Essential Functions:

  • Driving vision and strategy with the use of syndicated data, keen insights on category trends, and innovative sales programs for key accounts
  • Achieve sales targets for base and vertical growth
  • Accountable to the region and channel P&L
  • Prepare and manage the operating budget and sales goals for accounts within a region.
  • Lead the development and execution of company sales and marketing programs for the Key account Managers.
  • Coordinate activities and communications among vendors and company functional groups.
  • Manage the KeHE account team currently serving the customer to include Account Managers and Analysts; create a team atmosphere characterized with strong morale, collaboration in solving problems, team-oriented, and with a sense of urgency
  • Maintain high degree of awareness of competitor's strategies and programs in the region.
  • Coordinate activities and communications among vendors and company functional groups to assure account satisfaction.
  • Ensure team is selling productive brands and customers have a "best in class" assortment.
  • Identify and follow up on new business development opportunities.
  • Communicate with all departments and organizational levels regarding account sales and operations.
  • Assure that established company policies and procedures are followed in achieving the above accountabilities.
  • Direct the activities of the Sales team and office staff. Coach, counsel, train, evaluate job performance, and develop subordinates in meeting their assigned objectives and developing their skills. Recommend and implement staffing changes and assist in the selection process to effect these changes.
  • Provide team with all tools and guidance necessary to help accomplish company initiatives.
  • Educate team and customers on trends and new KeHE solutions to align with trends.
  • Conduct conversations around KeHE pricing programs and efficiencies.
  • Analyze reports with your team to ensure that we understand the opportunities.
  • Teach the team how to conduct productive business reviews and planning sessions.
  • Work cross functionally with Accounts Receivable, Growth Solutions, Vendor Management, Account Support, Customer Care, Retail Sales, and other departments to ensure a best in class customer experience.
  • Strong communication with retail execution so we are aligned in selling and execution.
  • Manage, coach, train, and develop a team of Sr. AMs/AMs. Provide leadership supporting their assigned objectives and commitment to developing the folks on the team.
  • Responsible for selecting, developing and retaining a team that will be able to lead change while accelerating account growth and increasing profitability.
  • Build relationships with all levels within the account base and with all internal stakeholders.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • A minimum of five (5) years of sales experience in grocery industry management, preferably in mid to large size key/chain accounts.
    • Proficiency with MS Office required and a thorough understanding of industry, market, and consumer trends a must.
    • Ability and willingness to work with all Key Account Managers at the customer's headquarters and in the field.
    • Exhibit servant leadership skills and collaborates well cross functionally.

      Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude:

      • Must possess strong cognitive, reasoning, problem solving, and analytical skills.
      • Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational and communication skills.
      • Advance level of Microsoft Office experience required, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
      • Must have a high energy level and be comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
      • Ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, and flexible.
      • Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
      • Must be resourceful, highly dependable, efficient and detailed oriented.
      • Must have the ability to establish credibility and be decisive while being able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities. Need to be service oriented while being assertive/persuasive.
      • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and management personnel.
