amplify our collective success. About the Role: Ensures smooth and
efficient operation of the HVAC systems, keeping the RDU Airport
Authority facilities running like a well-tuned aircraft. This role
navigates through a variety of maintenance challenges, much like a
skilled pilot adapting to changing conditions, ensuring the safe
and reliable function of our public facility. Additionally, the
Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in weather-related
operations, such as snow removal or hurricane preparedness,
ensuring our 24/7 operation remains airborne without turbulence.
This is a 2nd shift position, working from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday (with Sunday and
Monday off). Compensation: Maximum – Based on experience Minimum -
$ 24.84 Employees working second shift are eligible for a $1.00 per
hour shift differential. What You’ll Do: Assists with
troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining: Direct expansion air
conditioning units A variety of pumps associated with HVAC, from 1
hp to 100 hp throughout the airport. The airport's AHUs and
ventilation systems Boilers and hot water system Chillers and
chilled water system Cooling towers Variable frequency drives
Monitors and operates all RDU Building Management Systems Maintains
and assists with HVAC water treatment. What You Need: Education:
Required: High School diploma or equivalent Preferred: Associate
degree or Apprentice Program Experience: Required: 2 or more years
of experience in the HVAC trade Preferred: 4 or more years of
experience in the HVAC trade Licenses or Certifications: Required:
Valid NC Driver’s License Preferred: NC Registered Journeyman's
Certificate CDL class B License (or ability to obtain within 9
months) Emergency/Weather Status This position is considered
Essential . This means this department and role are essential to
operations and required to be on-site when there is an airport
