Job Description:
Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Utilities and
CIP Engineer with strong expertise in troubleshooting and
supporting DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS) in a regulated
pharmaceutical or biotech environment. The ideal candidate will
have 5 years of hands-on experience with DeltaV and a solid
understanding of utility systems and clean-in-place (CIP)
operations supporting GMP manufacturing processes. Key
Responsibilities: Provide engineering support for utility and CIP
systems, including troubleshooting, optimizing, and maintaining
automated cleaning processes. Perform in-depth analysis and
resolution of system issues related to DeltaV DCS, ensuring minimal
downtime and maximum process reliability. Interface with
automation, maintenance, validation, and operations teams to ensure
robust support and continuous improvement of control strategies.
Develop and revise functional specifications, control narratives,
and IO lists as they pertain to DeltaV automation systems.
Participate in commissioning, qualification, and validation
activities for new or modified utility and CIP systems. Ensure
compliance with cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and FDA/EMA regulatory
requirements in all automation and utilities-related activities.
Support change control, deviation investigations, and CAPA
processes related to utilities and CIP equipment. Contribute to
data trending, alarm management, and control loop tuning for
critical utility systems. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s
degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related
discipline). Minimum 5 years of experience working with DeltaV DCS
in a regulated manufacturing environment. Proven experience in
troubleshooting, modifying, and supporting control strategies in
DeltaV. Strong knowledge of clean-in-place (CIP) systems, utility
systems (WFI, Clean Steam, HVAC, etc.), and facility automation.
Familiarity with ISA-88, S88 batch processing, and industry
automation standards. Working knowledge of GMPs, validation
requirements, and lifecycle documentation (URS, FRS, IQ/OQ/PQ).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work
cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Preferred
Qualifications: Experience with Emerson DeltaV Batch Configuration.
Exposure to other automation platforms (Rockwell, Siemens) is a
plus. Knowledge of data historian systems (OSIsoft PI) and GAMP 5
guidelines.
