Job Description Job Description Substitute Teacher FLSA Status: Non-Exempt ACA Status: Part-time Job Summary Carry out daily lessons as prepared by the classroom teacher. Assume duties such as recess or lunch monitoring as appropriate and assigned. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction. Manage student behavior in the classroom by enforcing rules and procedures in accordance with the disciplinary systems of the School. Provide appropriate feedback and encouragement to students on their work. Other Duties Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds. Work as a member of a team. Other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications BA/BS degree from an accredited institution preferred 3 years teaching experience preferred Training or experience in Special Education preferred Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology General Requirements A criminal history background check is required of all employees.
