Description: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at
North Carolina A State University invites applications for a
9-month, tenure-track assistant or associate professor position in
Analysis. The Department encourages persons from all areas of
analysis to apply but is particularly interested in applicants with
research interests and expertise in one or more of the areas of
real analysis, complex analysis, functional analysis, harmonic
analysis, topological data analysis, or applied analysis. Potential
application areas of interest include, but are not limited to,
signal and image processing, graph theory, materials science,
photonics, complex or computational fluids. The Department of
Mathematics and Statistics seeks candidates to join a growing
Department with interactive faculty. Primary duties include, but
are not limited to, teaching at both undergraduate and graduate
level, conducting research, advising students, writing grant
proposals, publishing in peer reviewed journals, and working
collaboratively with the faculty within and outside the department.
Service to the Department, College of Science & Technology and the
University is also expected.Primary Function of Organizational
Unit: North Carolina A State University is a public,
doctoral/research and 1890 land-grant university that enrolls over
13,000 students. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is an
academic unit within the College of Science and Technology, seeking
to provide undergraduate and graduate students with an inviting
environment that inspires them to become leaders in their fields
and areas of expertise. The Department of Mathematics & Statistics
offers degree programs in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics,
Statistics, and Mathematics Secondary Education at the B.S. level,
Applied Mathematics at the M.S. level, and a doctoral concentration
in Data Science and Analytics within the multidisciplinary PhD
program in Applied Science and Technology. The Department also
offers two minor programs in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics
Secondary Education, and an undergraduate certificate program in
Data Science and Analytics, and is a major contributor to an online
graduate certificate program in Data Analytics offered by the
Graduate College. In terms of student credit hours taught, it is,
as befits a STEM oriented university, the largest department in the

001525Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematical
Sciences by the anticipated date of appointment, experience and
track record indicating excellent potential to conduct research and
advise students, and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate
courses in the Department. Preferred: Preference given to those
whose research expertise and interests lie in one or more of the
areas of real analysis, complex analysis, functional analysis,
harmonic analysis topological data analysis, or applied analysis.
Potential application areas of interest include, but are not
limited to, signal and image processing, graph theory, materials
science, photonics, complex or computational fluids. Postdoctoral
research experience or equivalent academic experience, strong
applied analysis, computer programming and data visualization
skills are desirable. University teaching experience is a plus. For
the position of assistant professor, applicants must show strong
research potential and commitment to excellence in teaching,
learning and student success. Research productivity beyond the
doctoral dissertation is expected. For an associate professorship,
applicants should show evidence of excellence in teaching, learning
and student success, and have an established research reputation,
including success in securing extramural funding, record of
publications and supervision of graduate students. Special
