Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) is currently driving an exciting transformation in the transportation industry, and we are recruiting a passionate Public Relations Manager to highlight this through the development and execution of our strategic public relations agenda. You will be a member of the VTNA Brand Marketing Communications team and play a key role in strategically conceptualizing, developing and executing the VTNA public relations agenda and initiatives. You will also manage and host VTNA industry press conferences and media events and are the primary go-to for North American media.

Your main responsibilities in this role includes:

• Work cross functionally to create and deploy the VTNA strategic public relations agenda and PR plan
• Ensure full PR integration in the overall communications initiatives
• Work with in-house resources and external PR agencies to conceptualize, drive, develop and execute public relations initiatives and press releases
• Set the strategic PR messaging and create executive talking points for industry press conferences and media events
• Plan, manage and host in-person and virtual industry press conferences and media events
• Serve as the official media spokesperson and develop official media response policies, Q&As and position papers
• Develop and foster excellent media relations to ensure maximum exposure of Volvo Trucks North America in relevant media and press
• Closely monitor the fast-evolving digital media and communications landscape and secure maximum leverage of the trends
• Manage media outreach and inquiries
• Establish and maintain a strong relationship within the VTNA value chain and Volvo Trucks Global public relations team

    Who are you?
    You hold a bachelor's degree in PR / Communications or a related discipline and have at least ten years of professional and "hands on" experience in PR / communications and commercial operations.
    
    You will also have experience with the following:
    
    • Fluent in English, conversant in Spanish or French a plus but not required
    • Good computer skills; MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Trucking, automotive or transportation industry related experience is of strong advantage
    • Working experience in an international corporation in a global business is a plus
    • Willing to adjust work hours based on workload
    • Moderate travels within the US and to Canada is required
