Staff Accountant: The Staff Accountant will perform various
accounting, bookkeeping, and financial analysis duties, including
recording financial transactions, reviewing financial statements,
evaluating and implementing new accounting systems, assisting with
tax information requests from external advisors, and recommending /
implementing accounting best practices. The ideal candidate will
have a strong understanding of cash basis, accrual basis, and US
GAAP financial accounting. Duties will include but are not limited
to monthly financial review, audit preparation for future audits,
general ledger entries and month end close entries, fixed asset
accounting, and other related activities. The ideal candidate will
have an undergraduate degree in either Accounting and/or Finance.
It will be a plus for the candidate to have a CPA with working
knowledge of Quickbooks for Business as well as an understanding of
month end close processes. Job Requirements Ability to work
independently and in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and
written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
or related software as well as other accounting software programs
including Intuit Quickbooks. Ability to anticipate work needs and
interact professionally with customers. Excellent organizational
skills and attention to detail. Bachelor's degree in accounting,
finance or related field required At least two years of related
experience required, including US GAAP financial accounting,
maintaining cash and accrual basis books, and accounting for fixed
assets and depreciation. Preferred CPA Additional
Accounting-related Certificates or Certifications Additional Job
Responsibilities Prepares stand alone and consolidated financial
statements by gathering and analyzing financial data and
information (utilizing Quickbooks and other systems). These include
Profit and Loss (Income) Statements, Balance Sheets, and Statement
of Cash Flows. Reviews and updates monthly financials entries to
ensure accuracy and US GAAP compliance. Prepares general ledger
entries by maintaining records and files as well as reconciling
accounts. Maintains both Cash and Accrual Basis financial
statements. Prepares and enters month end closing entries.
Completes month end financial and bank reconciliations. Prepares
and participates in annual audit processes. Registers for state tax
/ business license accounts and maintains legal documentation
(e.g., working with registered agent). Assists HR with state
payroll tax accounts and questions. Assists with tax information
requests from external advisors for tax preparation purposes.
Assists with financial support on acquisitions / related accounting
and establishment of books. Develops and implements US GAAP
compliant accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and
interpreting data. Performs other related duties as assigned. This
role requires availability up to five (5) days in office per week
as needed. The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $70,000
dependent on experience and certifications (additional benefits and
