creating a proactive, best in class Tax team that is integrated
into our business practices as well as managing tax compliance. Due
to promotion, we have an opening on our tax team for a Senior Tax
Analyst. This position is based in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The Senior Tax Analyst for Income and Franchise reports to the Tax
Manager and is responsible for income and franchise tax, planning
and compliance. They will have effective communication skills and
actively contribute to tax projects, the implementation of process
improvements, and the integration of technology. This role reports
to the Tax Manager and is located in Greensboro, NC.
Core Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the US federal and state income and franchise
tax returns, estimated tax calculations, and estimated tax
payments
- Prepare monthly income tax provisions based on IFRS accounting
standards and maintain related tax accounts in the general
ledger
- Assist with the development of tax accrual projections as part
of the strategic financial planning and budgeting process
- Maintain and reconcile tax fixed assets and depreciation
- Research questions and issues raised by the business regarding
federal, state and local taxes
- Help the sales and property tax team solve complex issues
- Act as a business consultant on all matters of tax compliance
including income, franchise, sales, property and payroll tax
issues, including providing guidance as to the interpretations of
various sections of the tax law
- Respond to tax notices issued by various tax authorities
- Assist with tax audits initiated by various tax authorities or
internal control
- Assist with large research projects and other tax-related
projects
Required Competencies and Skills:
- Technical/Functional Expertise: Demonstrating basic technical
knowledge of federal and state tax rules with a general
understanding of financial accounting. Effective analytical
skills

deadlines; managing multiple projects and tasks

Minimum Education and Experience:
- BA/BS in Accounting or related field from nationally accredited
university
- CPA highly preferred
- 3-5 years progressive tax experience with public accounting
firm and/or multistate company, including specific experience
preparing U.S. federal and state income tax returns.
- Sales and / or property tax experience is a bonus
- Proficiency with tax return preparation and fixed asset systems
(OneSource and Sage preferred)
- Proficiency with online tax research tools (Checkpoint and BNA
preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Alteryx experience preferred
- Captive Equipment Finance or general financial services
experience preferred
- Knowledge of tax and accounting for leasing in the United
States preferred
- Knowledge of IFRS tax accounting preferred
